General questions:

Q: What areas of Melbourne do you serve?

A: I travel 25km from Ascot Vale.

Q: What is your privacy policy?

A: Your address may be shared with my husband, for safety reasons when I am doing home visits for massage, childbirth ed or doula services. All personal information provided to Your birth Your baby will be kept completely confidential and never shared with any third party, unless you give expressed written permission to do so.

Q: What happens when I book a massage?

A: You will be sent a patient intake form to fill in, to ensure you do not have any medical conditions which make a massage unsuitable. Once this is received, you will be invoiced a $30 booking charge. Your booking is not secured until both the form and the booking charge have been received. The remaining $60 of the service charge will be due on the day of the massage.

Q: What’s your cancellation policy?

A: For massages, bookings which are cancelled within 72 hours of the scheduled appointment time need to be re-scheduled within 24 hours to avoid forfeiting the $30 booking charge. The exception to this is where you receive written confirmation from your care providers that your health status has changed and a massage is now medically unsuitable for you.

Q: What are your payment terms?

A: Payment details for massages, are outlined above. Payment plans are available for Childbirth Education and Postpartum Doula services. Full payment must be received before the commencement of the first Childbirth Education class. Payment expectations for Doula services are outlined in the contract. Booking early for either service will give you the most flexibility.

Q: Do I get a refund?

A: For childbirth ed services, a full refund will be offered in the event that the provider cancels a meeting which cannot be rescheduled. A partial refund (where part of the class series has already been completed) or full refund (in cases where the class is yet to commence) will also be offered if the client’s baby is born before the completion of the class series, so long as the client is less than 36+0 weeks gestation. Refund events for Doula services are outlined in the contract.

Q: Do you offer a discount if I sign up for both Childbirth Education Classes and Doula services?

A: Yes. If you sign up to Childbirth Ed and Postpartum Doula services, the 90-minute doula services planning appointment is FREE, which is a $75 saving.

Doula questions:

Q: What does a Postpartum Doula do?

A:  In a nutshell I provide practical and emotional in-home support for families once their baby has arrived. This is a time of great learning and development and families need to be supported both practically and emotionally. My services can involve cooking meals and snacks, general house cleaning, emotional support, providing evidence based information and assistance with finding other suitable local resources.

Q: I have family coming to stay live with me for a few weeks immediately after the birth. Can I arrange for your services to start once they leave?

A: Yes. My postpartum services can either start during your first few days home, regardless of family being there, or I can commence once they’ve gone home.

Q: My baby is already a few weeks old, can I still hire you?

A: Yes. If you’re already a few days or weeks postpartum and finding that you’d like some extra help, we can still discuss your needs and arrange a service agreement.

Childbirth Education questions:

Q: Do you do group or private classes?

A: All the classes I offer are private, one-on-one experiences (except in the case where you agree to make the class larger, see below). This means I can conduct them at mutually convenient times, such as during business hours, evenings or weekends.

Q: I have a family member/friend due at a similar time as me, can we do your class together?

A: Yes, additional couples can be accommodated for a small additional fee. Three couples maximum. Must all be doing the same class (all FTP or all Refresher).

Q: I have more than one family member planning on coming to support me during my labour, can they come to the class too?

A: Yes, additional participants can attend, up to 3 people in addition to the pregnant person – at no extra cost. This arrangement is also excellent for all non-traditional pregnancy arrangements such as surrogacy.

Q: Where will the classes be held?

A: I will travel to your home, or we can meet in a suitable public location.

Q: When’s the ideal time to take the class?

A: Ideally between 28-35 weeks. Book early to ensure your ideal dates are available.

Q: What happens in the case of a class cancellation?

A: Cancellations made on behalf of the client made within 24 hours of the agreed meeting time will incur the full service fee, unless the class is immediately rescheduled. Cancellations made prior to 24 hours will be refunded.
